Boomerang extends its reach internationally - Additional patent Boomlocal Granted.

Boomerang™, the groundbreaking provider of a patented intelligent SMS technology, today announced that its disruptive two-way or threaded SMS technology has been awarded a further UK patent which extends threaded SMS internationally from a designated hub.  Boomlocal allows businesses to engage interactively with customers and staff around the world via the universal messaging system, SMS.

Boomlocal lets businesses send text messages to customers and staff across international borders from a locally registered number.  Recipients are only charged a local rate when replying to the message, regardless of its actual destination.

Boomlocal utilises patented Boomerang technology that enables globally active businesses to automate their regional communications. It allows an outgoing message to be matched with an end user's response and for the very first time, outbound messages can be automatically matched with their associated inbound responses irrespective of the quantity of messages and order of response. It not only removes international text charges for end users but also provides a local communications channel encouraging customer response and interaction. For instance, a US-based company could communicate a time critical promotion to consumers in Singapore via SMS using a Singapore-based number.  All replies would be charged at the local text message rate thereby increasing response rates as consumers will be more willing participate and reply.

Commenting on the patent, Peter Tanner, founder of Boomerang said, "This patent provides our partners and customers with an international capability to complement the core Boomerang service. Boomlocal is an incredibly cost-effective way for businesses to be more closely connected to their staff, customers and partners wherever they may be.  Utilising Boomlocal in conjunction with Boomerang ensures better response rates and improved customer loyalty, which strengthens the business brand improving local reach through the simplest and most popular communication method on the planet.  We have already successfully deployed Boomlocal into seven international markets and are working with our channel partners to roll out Boomlocal as part of their customer solutions."
